The Haps Did I mention that I hate user studies at all?
Just have a look at those eyes for a moment. That's not a trick of the light. That's what ferrets actually look like (well, minus the black plastic wings, typically). Beady, evil little eyes, scratching. scrabbling little claws, greedy and knowing expressions. To me, the wings in this picture merely bring to light the true evil-osity lurking within. What, you ask, do winged ferrets have to do with computer science research? Well, let's just say for a moment that you had to go over to a person's house in order to have them complete a user study. Now, let us suppose that this person (Let's call him...Lisa S. No, that's too obvious...uuuh, let's say L. Simpson) collected ferrets. And then comes the biting. oh....the biting. This is what I put up with for the good of science. Well, I got another two participants, and am still working on doing statistic on our findings. Also started the procedure-section of a paper that we're hoping to submit to http://www.chi2005.org/, which is the biggest HCI conference of the year. Exciting stuff, chilluns. Exciting stuff. posted by Kim Hansen on August 4 at 2:02 PM MST
