Welcome

This site is created to describe my summer experience which was made possible by CRA-W Canadian Distributed Mentor Project (CDMP). This program is designed to match female undergraduate students with female professors, in the field of computer science and computer engineering, for summer research and mentoring. Each year they choose 10 women to receive the award.

The CDMP awards $3500 to each student to supplement a NSERC Undergraduate Summer Research Grant(USRA) which provides $4500. In addition $1000 is awarded to each mentor, to offset research and mentoring costs.

From May to August 2007, I will be conducting research in the field of Bioinformatics in Dr. Janice Glasgow's laboratory at the School of Computing, Queen's University.

For further information about myself, my research project, my mentor and other aspects of this wonderful opportunity, please browse this site.

Should you have any questions or would like to provide me with feedback, I can be reached via email at marymuir[AT]interchange[DOT]ubc[DOT]ca.

Thank you for visiting.
