PURE: Preparing Undergraduates for REsearch

Objectives

The Preparing Undergraduates for REsearch (PURE) project has two main goals.

Determine what has been previously studied about undergraduate research practices in STEM fields in general and in computing fields in particular. Specifically, what is known about best practices in running an undergraduate research program and impacts such programs have on their participants. We will start with the information on undergraduate research from CRA-W/CDC data buddies project. We will work with them to perform additional analysis and/or modify the surveys to gather additional data of interest.

Work with the CRA IT staff to design a web site (or page) for faculty research mentors that offers advice and resources on running an undergraduate research program, funding opportunities to support undergraduate research, and other related items.  (See the Conquer website)
