By: Lydia Tapia, Assistant Professor, University of New Mexico (Lead Organizer) Nine hours can have a dramatic impact—one student described her experience at the Becoming a Robot Guru 2 Workshop as “life changing.” On June 19th, I co-hosted this CRA-W/CDC Discipline Specific Workshop (DSW) along with Sandra Faust (Google[x]) and Meeko Oishi (University of New […]
The Pipeline Workshop aims to expand the high-performance computing (HPC) and computational sciences workforce with researchers and engineers from traditionally underrepresented groups. This is a CRA-W Discipline Specific Workshop.
The world-wide female participation in AI and CS in general is dwindling instead of increasing. The decrease of the number of women in AI is specially worrisome. This discipline specific set of activities is aimed at creating a network of women and members of other under-represented groups at the IJCAI 2016 conference.
CRA-W/ CDC is proud to sponsor this workshop. The goal is to introduce students to the exciting research area of robotics and to provide students currently doing research in robotics with valuable career-building information. It will be held at this year's 2016 Robotics: Science and Systems Conference.
The 2016 CRA-W/CDC CADENS Broadening Participation in Visualization (BPViz’16) Workshop will be held August 3-4, 2016. The goal of the workshop is to cross boundaries between STEM and non-STEM domains of scientists with data visualization needs, to facilitate collaborations and broaden participation in visualization on all levels: academic, research and industry.
