The School of Informatics, Computing, & Engineering has one open Postdoctoral position to conduct an investigation of the structure and evolution of scientific enterprise using network science and machine learning (e.g. graph embedding).  This non-tenure track appointment starts in September 2019 for one year, with the possibility of additional years of extension, subject to funding and performance.  The salary is competitive and benefits are generous.

The postdoc will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary team and tackle fundamental questions at the intersection of Science of Science, Machine Learning, and Network Science. The postdoc will work with Profs. Yong-Yeol Ahn, Staša Milojević, Alessandro Flammini, and Filippo Menczer at Indiana University, in collaboration with the IU Network Science Institute.

Qualifications:  A PhD in relevant discipline is required (Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field).  The ideal candidate will have strong computational and statistical skills, a strong track record of publication and collaboration, and experience and competence in managing and analyzing large datasets. Expertise in Machine Learning and/or Network Science will be particularly valued. Domain expertise in Science of Science will also be highly valued, but not strictly required.
