Post-Doctoral Position at the confluence of Cybersecurity, Smart Grids, Artificial Intelligence, and Internet of Things

Two postdoctoral research associate positions are available immediately in the Networks and Systems Laboratory (one position) headed by Dr. Satyajayant Misra (website: www.cs.nmsu.edu/~misra; Google Scholar Page: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=KJPGePAAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao) and the Knowledge, Logic, and Advanced Programming Lab (one position) headed by Drs. Enrico Pontelli and Son Tran (website: https://www.cs.nmsu.edu/klap) at Computer Science department of New Mexico State University, USA. The positions are funded by a National Science Foundation Smart Grid Research Center grant and an Intel-NSF grant on IoT and future Internet Architecture. The postdoctoral research associate will work with experienced researchers in the area of computer networking and security, smart grid and power systems, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and with PhD, MS, and UG students.

In Networking and Security: The ideal candidate is expected to have a solid knowledge in networking protocols and paradigms, security and privacy, and system design in networking and security in general (in the smart grid, desirable), new techniques at the intersection of machine learning and networking. The research will pertain to networking architecture design using the information-centric networking paradigm  (ICN knowledge, a plus) for CPS and IoT networks and investigations in blockchains, edge computing, and latest privacy requirements such as the European GDPR. Solid knowledge in programming in C++/Python and system programming is highly desirable.

In Artificial Intelligence: The ideal candidate is expected to have a solid knowledge in reasoning about knowledge and actions, automated planning, and constraint optimization  in multi-agent systems. The research will focus on epistemic multi-agent planning and its application in smart grid domains.

Each candidate will also mentor a lab of 4-5 PhD and some MS and undergraduate students. The postdoctoral position is for 1 years with possibility of renewal.
