Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (Cyber Security and CPS Security)
Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Electrical and Computer Engineering
Applications are invited for a tenure track Assistant Professor position at the University of Maine in the ECE Department with a 25% joint appointment in the Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC). This position is one of four cluster hires in the area of Green Engineering and Materials (GEM). The candidate must have a PhD in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
Candidates are sought with expertise in security of cyber physical systems (CPS) including additive and digital manufacturing; computer/wireless network security; embedded systems; Internet of Things (IoT) security; hardware security; and machine learning based data-driven security. Successful candidate is expected to collaborate with the ASCC in terms of applying Cyber Security principles to digital manufacturing, green engineering and materials, high performance computing (HPC), robotic manufacturing systems, secure handling of real-time data, and wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Candidates should commit to teaching excellence and be able to teach courses such as Fundamentals of Cyber Security at the undergraduate level and CNS/CPS Security at the graduate level. This position is 50% teaching / 50% research and requires active engagement in service to the profession, UMaine, and to the State.
