In this short video, Margaret Martonosi, the Assistant Director for the NSF Directorate of Computer and Information Science and Engineering, emphasizes the importance of Departmental Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) Plans.

Departmental BPC Plans are important because they help departments:

  • reaffirm their commitment to equity and inclusion,
  • identify and organize their BPC related goals and activities,
  • and support PIs in their department who are submitting CISE proposals requiring a Project BPC Plan at the time of award.
