Job Description

Syracuse University’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science ( invites applications for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or Associate Teaching Professor, committed to inclusive excellence and innovative teaching.

Teaching responsibilities will include a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. In particular, we seek candidates who have the expertise and desire to teach in one or more of the following computing areas: software engineering and implementation (software engineering models, Agile development, UML, etc.), object-oriented design, computer organization and architecture, systems programming, and general programming (such as C++, Java, and Python).

We also seek candidates to teach undergraduate electrical and computer engineering laboratory classes, such as circuits, systems, digital logic, FPGAs and microcontrollers, embedded systems, DSP, and controls. The successful candidate should also be able to teach relevant core courses and/or mentor students in their design efforts, and manage the lab.

Candidates with enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching will be considered favorably. Teaching faculty are integral members of the EECS department who are expected to make significant contributions to the department’s teaching, advising, curriculum design, and assessment activities.

Qualifications & Responsibilities

A doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
