“Jeannette brings a unique blend of experience from academia, industry, and government that’s a perfect fit for CRA,” said Nancy Amato, CRA Board of Directors Chair. “I’m thrilled to have her join the Board and am looking forward to working with her and the perspective she’ll bring in support of our mission to work across sectors to advance computing research.”
Dr. Wing previously served as Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Research, Head of the Department of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, and Assistant Director of the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Directorate at the National Science Foundation. Her research interests include trustworthy AI, security and privacy, formal methods, PLs, and distributed/concurrent systems.
“I’m excited to be returning to the CRA Board of Directors,” said Dr. Wing. “It’s been wonderful to see the organization’s impact grow in the years since I was last involved, and I’m looking forward to helping shape computing’s future and influence during my term.”
Dr. Wing joins Eugene Spafford, professor of computer science at Purdue University, as ACM Representatives on the CRA Board of Directors. She comes onto the board as Alexander Wolf, Dean of the Baskin School of Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz, ended his term as an ACM board representative on December 31.
The CRA Board of Directors will convene next from February 22-23 in Washington, D.C. For updates on the CRA Board, including board meeting summaries, follow the CRA Bulletin and Computing Research News.
