UR2PhD provides students with the support they need to develop into effective and confident researchers.
The Undergraduate Research to PhD program (“UR2PhD”, pronounced ‘you are to PhD’) aims to ensure that undergraduate students have access to high-quality research opportunities, positive mentorship experiences, and information about graduate study and research pathways. This talent development programs equips students with the skills they need to excel in their careers.

Meet UR2PhD Students
Before UR2PhD, I had never experienced research, but this program gave me a completely new perspective on myself and my career interests. It allowed me to put the theory from class into practice and boosted my confidence in applying CS skills outside the classroom.
Reflecting on the beginning of this experience, I would never have thought of myself able to conduct research in augmented reality. Not only did I do it, but I successfully finished it.
Participating in the UR2PhD program was an incredibly valuable experience for me. It provided me with the opportunity to work closely with mentors , gaining insight into the research process and understanding how to approach research systematically.
Through this program, I learned key skills such as how to conduct research, read academic papers critically, and write in LaTeX for professional documentation. These are foundational skills that have significantly contributed to my development as a researcher and helped me establish a structured approach to tackling academic challenges.
This program was instrumental in helping me achieve my initial goal of gaining research experience, and it also opened my eyes to the broader possibilities of academic and professional growth through research. Personally, it has boosted my confidence in engaging with complex ideas, and professionally, it has equipped me with tools and insights that will be invaluable in my future endeavors.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this program to other undergraduates, especially those without prior research experience. It serves as a perfect starting point to explore the world of academia, guided by supportive mentors and structured learning opportunities.
