What are institutional partners?
Institutional partners are schools, or departments, that work with the UR2PhD program to amplify and diversify the existing research infrastructure at their institution.
Why should my department consider an institutional partnership?
The UR2PhD program enables departments to increase the number of students receiving research training without substantially increasing faculty workloads. Institutional partners benefit by receiving priority access to program activities, in addition to support from CRA.
What does an institutional partnership mean in practice? What is my department committing to?
Institutional partners are committing to making a concerted effort to recruit, support, and mentor more first-time researchers. Partners are expected to designate a local coordinator, who will manage institutional recruiting and engagement efforts.
Local coordinators are responsible for setting up a process for advertising, recruiting, and selecting researchers and mentors.
Institutional partners commit to participating for a year, but all partners are welcome to continue to participate for longer periods.
