The College of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications  for a Research Computing Engineer//Research Computing Engineer Manager position. This is a full-time administrative faculty position that reports to the Associate Dean of Research for the College of Engineering.

Research Computing Engineer provides, advanced end-user support and administration for the IT infrastructure needs of the College of Engineering. This includes organizing IT resources for teaching, research, student learning, and administrative functions in the College.  This position consults with faculty on their computing needs for research and facilitates the design/deployment of systems to support them. The Research Computing Engineer specifies, or consults on, significant hardware purchases; manages the College’s major software license renewals and software installations; oversees the student computer labs. This position will be expected to follow the best practices and standards for the infrastructure.

Research Computing Engineer, Manager, in addition to the Research Computing Engineer responsibilities, the Research Computing Engineer, Manager is responsible for contributing to funding proposals; supervising student workers that perform advanced endpoint support and technical infrastructure maintenance; facilitating high-performance computing; engineering novel software solutions.
