The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University is looking for outstanding candidates for multiple tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of electrical and computer engineering, at all ranks of seniority, for its main campus in Ithaca, New York.  We are particularly interested broadly in computer engineering candidates (e.g., computer architecture, embedded systems, CAD/EDA, or digital VLSI). Please see our website, https://www.ece.cornell.edu/, for additional information about the school.

We are especially interested in exceptionally qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and service, to the diversity of the academic community and to create a climate that attracts students of all ethnicities, genders, and nationalities. We strongly encourage candidates from groups traditionally underrepresented in engineering to apply.

Applicants must hold a doctorate in an appropriate field by the time their faculty appointment begins. They must have demonstrated an ability to conduct outstanding research and show promise for excellence in teaching.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae (CV), brief statements describing research, teaching, and service, three publications, and arrange to have at least three reference letters submitted. We also ask applicants for all faculty positions to share their experiences and approaches (past, current, or future) to fostering learning, research service, and outreach in a diverse community.  Applicants may submit a standalone statement or embed the information in other parts of their application materials.

Applications must be submitted online at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/28611. Review of applications will begin immediately. Applications received by December 1, 2024 will receive full consideration.

Cornell University is the largest and newest of the Ivy League universities, and our College of Engineering ranks highest among them. Ezra Cornell’s 1865 foundational vision of “any person, any study” is palpable in everyday life on campus, as faculty and students have access to an exceptional breadth of research and learning opportunities while immersed in an atmosphere of inclusive collaboration.  The town of Ithaca sits at the southern tip of Cayuga Lake, the second largest in the Fingerlakes region of New York State, and it combines breathtaking natural beauty and a small-town lifestyle with the cultural and culinary offerings of larger cities. The seasonal climate in this privileged setting allows for many outdoor activities, such as sailing, swimming, biking, hiking, skiing, or ice skating.

Cornell University actively seeks to meet the needs of dual-career couples.  It has a Dual Career office that works closely with all departments and colleges and is a member of the Upstate New York Higher Education Recruitment Consortium.

The salary range reflects an aggregate of qualifications and disciplines across Cornell University and will fall between $79,400 – $329,600.  Specifically, the hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

·       Prior relevant work or industry experience

·       Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position

·       Academic discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)

·       Unique applicable skills
