Assistant/Associate Professor (Informatics)

The Informatics Department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions starting in Fall 2023. We are searching broadly across expertise in Human Centered Computing (HCC) or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI); exceptional candidates in other areas related to Informatics, and Information Science/Systems/Technology will also be considered (e.g., serious/educational games, gaming behavior, accessibility, human-robot interaction, health, computer-supported cooperative work, augmented/virtual reality, and social computing). We aim to hire at the rank of Assistant Professor, but exceptional candidates at higher ranks will also be considered. Candidates with doctorates from top worldwide institutions are especially welcome to apply.

NJIT is a Carnegie R1 Doctoral University (Very High Research Activity), with $166M research expenditures in FY21. The Informatics Department has 16 tenured/tenure track faculty, and has strong connections with local industry. The Informatics Department is part of the Ying Wu College of Computing (YWCC), alongside the Departments of Computer Science and Data Science. YWCC has an enrollment of 4,000+ students in computing disciplines, and graduates ~1,000 computing professionals every year; as such, it is the largest producer of computing talent in the tri-state (NY, NJ, CT) area.
