Department of Computer Science
Union College, a highly-selective undergraduate liberal arts and engineering college, invites applications for the Tenure-Track Mary H. ’80 and Richard K. ’80 Templeton Assistant Professor of Computer Science, beginning September 2024. This endowed position is part of a broader initiative to further strengthen and integrate computer science and engineering with the liberal arts at Union. The area of expertise is open. Successful applicants will be committed to excellence in teaching, research, mentoring undergraduates, and to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
At Union, institutional expectations and support are balanced between teaching and research; the ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about teaching, supervising undergraduate research, sustaining an independent research program, and providing service to the department and the college. This tenure track position involves teaching the equivalent of two courses in each of three trimesters, advising 2-3 senior projects each year, and serving as an academic advisor. We welcome applicants from all areas of expertise, including those that can further strengthen connections between computer science and the liberal arts.
We will begin reviewing applications starting October 15, and will continue until the position is filled.
