The Min H. Kao Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) is seeking candidates for three tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor level with an anticipated appointment start of August 1, 2025.  Brief summaries of the positions are as follows:

●       Electrical Engineering (Assistant Professor): communications, radio frequency (RF) engineering, signal processing, or information theory. Exceptional candidates in related areas will also be considered. Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or similar at the time of appointment.

●       Computer Science (Assistant Professor): ​​software engineering, software systems, and programming languages. Candidates with exceptional research performance in other areas are also encouraged to apply. Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering or similar at the time of appointment.

●       Cyber-Physical Systems (Assistant Professor): general cyber-physical systems (CPS) and CPS applications in power grid security and resilience. Exceptional candidates in related areas will also be considered. Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar at the time of appointment.

EECS, the largest department in UT’s Tickle College of Engineering, is thriving and excelling. According to U.S. News and World Report, our three programs – Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science – rank 29th, 32nd, and 51st, respectively, among public universities.
