Program Timeline for 2025
    • Early Application Deadline: December 1, 2024
    • General Application Deadline: February 25, 2025
    • Program Duration: 10 weeks (Summer 2025)

The NSF Distributed Research Experiences for Undergraduates (DREU) program offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to immerse themselves in computing research and gain firsthand experience working with faculty mentors at institutions across the U.S. This 10-week summer program helps students explore what graduate school is like, while mentors support the next generation of researchers and promote diversity within the computing field.

Program Mission

NSF DREU provides research experiences for undergraduate students early in their academic careers, supporting their interest in advanced study and careers in computing research, and education. The program connects students with mentors to develop research skills and gain valuable experience in the field.

DREU participants are encouraged to develop their skills, explore potential career paths, and form meaningful relationships with faculty and graduate students.
