CRA Welcomes 2023 Tisdale Fellow

By Fatima Morera Lohr, 2023 TFAS Tisdale Fellow

Fatima MoreraHello! My name is Fatima Morera Lohr, and I am excited to be CRA’s Tisdale Fellow this year. I am a rising junior at Michigan Technological University, majoring in Computer Science and double minoring in Business and Mathematical Sciences. At Michigan Teach, I’ve been part of Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Women in Computer Science (WiCS), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Undergraduate Student Government (USG), St. Al’s Org, Accessibility Ad-Hoc Committee, Tech Traditions Committee, and Engineers without Borders. During my term in USG, I was the representative for the College of Computing, the liaison between Diversity and USG as well as Title IX and USG, and Chair of Events Committee.

Being involved in these organizations has given me the opportunity to meet new people, get to know my professors and learn from others. I am interested in cybersecurity and would like to pursue a higher education in it. I would love to put my abilities for the good and help those most in need.

After a year off school, I am looking forward to going back to the U.P. and keep building the friendships I’ve been able to form over the past two years. When I’m not studying or in a campus meeting, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, volunteering, helping wherever I can, playing volleyball and board games, film photography among other things.

I’m excited to be this summer CRA’s 2023 Tisdale Fellow. Since High School I knew I liked computer science, but I wasn’t sure if politics was also something I was interested in. After this summer at CRA, I can say I like the mixture between both and I look forward to keep learning about this field here at CRA.
