Overview

The Tri-State Women in Computing Conference (TRIWIC) is a a regional ACM-W Celebration of Women in Computing. TRIWIC brings together female technical women from Kentucky, great Cincinnati and beyond! This is an opportunity for women in these geographical areas to meet women in their fields and receive mentoring and leadership from senior women.

 

CRA-W and CDC are sponsoring TRIWIC through the Distinguished Lecture Series program. The speakers sponsored for TRIWIC are:

Deb Agarwal, Senior Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

Chandra Krintz, Professor of Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) & Co-founder and Chief Scientist of AppScale Systems, Inc.

The Cincinnati Club building, located on Garfield Place Park, was designed and built by the prominent Cincinnati architectual firm Garber and Woodward. Large, elegant European-style rooms, each with their own unique decor, have served the Cincinnati community since 1923, when the building originally opened as a grand hotel and private club.

The 2016 registration package with room includes a one night stay at this location in a shared suite with your own room. Roommate preferences are accepted at the time of registration.

 

Application

Student Scholarship

All students are encouraged to apply for the 2016 TRIWiC Conference scholarship.

Applications are now being accepted. Applicants will be asked to to write a paragraph about why you want to attend, and provide a school email address. The scholarship will defray the cost of attending this year’s event by lowering the price of registration from $100 to only $25.

Scholarships are not available for registrations that do not include a hotel room reservation. Winners will have an extra person in their living room suite on a rollaway.
